FOUNTAINS IN THE HOUSE AND OUTSIDE OF IT

Last 2 - 3 years, on a background of common enthusiasm for increase of quality of the habitation, with all evidence were showed the phenomenon, new to the Russian life, - aspiration of many rich people to have a fountain at themselves houses or in gardens. The market has answered it adequately - fountains on counters of shops have appeared "in assortment" as portable, and more thorough. And that and another is joyfully bought up. But, as always, the demand of the especially exacting buyers, which the goods of serial manufacture do not arrange, frequently remains unsatisfied.

With the purposes of the solution of a problem of satisfaction of this demand, author, a lot of years specializing in construction of any sort of fountains, would like to present the reader the ideas: on this theme in general and, in particular, about some architectural forms, in which it is possible to embody a room or garden fountain.

Many from those who considered a problem of creation a fountain at home, were depressed by an idea on necessity of a supply pipeline communications to it. But, fortunately, practice has shown, that necessity for it practically is not present. Now does not represent difficulty to buy the silent reliable and powerful electrical pump, which will actuate water in a fountain. Hence, to fill in water in the reservoir of a fountain it is necessary only once, and then only to add by its small portions in process of evaporation. If you, for this or that reason, will wish to remove water from a fountain, it will be not difficult to extort it through a hose with the help of the basic or specially intended for this pump. By the way, to extort water from garden pool for winter it is not necessary - during alternating snowfalls and thawing it, all the same, will be filled by water (can and up to edges), which then will freeze up to itself bottom, but - as shows practice is does not result in any negative consequences. But, certainly, it is necessary to remove for winter from a garden reservoir the pump and lamps.

The not flowing pool of a fountain relieves the owner from problems with pipes always aspiring to leak or to freeze. It is good also by that the water in it spontaneously gets rid of chlorine and can be exposed to controllable heating or cooling. It creates an opportunity for the maintenance in it practically of any fishes, turtles and other water animals. It is necessary only to establish an aquarial biofilter in the pool.

The pumps used for fountains - of immersing type (as a rule, of Italian or of German manufacturing) - are established directly in pool, is lower than a level of water, that, as it is easy to guess, it is much more safe for possible ieaking, rather than pump established outside of pool, and connected with it by adapters and flanges.

Frequently there is also problem of weight of a fountain, specially if it is supposed to be constructed of a stone. However, it is rather easily solved by application of easy materials for internal constructions, and architectural receptions, allowing to create visibility of significant volume at insignificant volume actual.

And, at last: the cumulative capacity of electrodevices of an average room fountain (pumps, fixtures, heater of water, filters) seldom exceeds 500 - 600 W. To create a solid jet of water of height of meters 5 for a fountain which is taking place outside of a premise, the pump by capacity no more than 1.5 kW allows.

The embodied idea closed water-current is capable essentially to raise aesthetic value of a premise or a garden. The number of the concrete forms of this embodiment is huge. Let's consider only some of them, most, on our sight, urgent and technological.

Small room fountain in a frame of architectural details.

As the practice has shown, the fountains of such design are most universal, since are wonderfully entered in the most different interiors - from bedrooms up to grandiose director's cabinets. To their advantages concern also insignificant weight and small labour input of manufacturing, since the sizes of their basic part - artificial rock - are not great, namely it requires the greatest expenses of laborious work of the expert. The details of a frame, if necessary, can be executed from easy and technological materials, that will lower both gross weight of a composition, and term of its construction. The rock sticks together from shapeless pieces of a stone, which colour, in an ideal, should meet to the colour decision of an interior. The pieces of a stone are selected to each other and stick together so that between them practically did not remain of backlashes - only by such way it is possible to give to the product a kind of natural rocky formation.

It is possible to decorate the rock by different ways; the author prefers for this purpose alive or conservated bonsai, natural moss, natural crystals and artificial plants of high quality.

The pools of all types of garden and room fountains very much win from presence in them of underwater illumination. Business that the not illuminated pool coated by a stone is recognized as a cold gloomy hole filled whether dark, whether and at all by dirty water. If pool to illuminate, it will seem bright and joyful, as a sea shallow per a solar day. On the bottom of such pool will make sense to put beautiful stones and large collection sea shells, to plant here and there bushes of artificial seaweed, gold fishes and bright-green with yellow belly turtles will be looked perfectly in it.

Such compositions can be established both in a room, and in a garden. If the rock has the large enough sizes allowing to arrange capacities for soil in its thicker, it is possible to land alive plants on it.

This composition has the little pool which is taking place at height about 80 cm from floors, that allows with convenience and from short distance to observe the fishes floating in it. If to establish a lumeniscent lamp under the arch of the grotto, it will be possible to place an ornate bed with flowers in it, instead of the big pool.

The similar monymental conctruction can serve an adornment of a hall or drawing room in a private residence, restaurant or office, naturally, only on the first floor, but best place for it - winter garden or a park in a manor. The same concept can be embodied and in as much as smaller volume - down to desktop waterfall by height of centimeters 30.

The room fountains of any sizes and forms look much more smartly and aristocraticly, if are decorated with good druses of natural crystals. As a limit of luxury, in this respect, the large enough rock constructed wholly from druses of rock crystal, amethyst or smoky quartz can, probably, be considered.

And, in summary, some words about advantage of fountains.
Besides the fountain decorates a room (frequently even being by its architectural dominant) and renders a calming influence on mentality by soft chatter of water, it also humidifies air, that has three consequences. Firstly, the increased humidity of air salutarily influences respiratory system of the people and other animals. Secondly, at the increased humidity not so cracks parquet and furniture. Thus the humidity even created by the large fountain in a small room, never happens such to result to deglueing of paperhangings or occurrence of any similar excesses. And, thirdly, all room plants for normal life require the increased humidity, and some (for example, such beautiful as tropical ferns) without appreciable humidifying to live in apartments can not at all.

At last, the fountain of the certain design allows to make high-aesthetic and to enter organically in an interior of a respectable apartment "an alive corner" - a subject of unrealizable dreams of many children, and it is pleased frequently and adults. Unrealizable - because it seems as if "alive corner" is a necessarily ugly and careless heap of eclectic aquariums and crates. But all will change if to use a fountain as an organizing and stylistic majorant of the "alive corner". In pool of a fountain the fishes and turtles (and also tritons, frogs, little crocodiles, molluscs, water insects and plants, crawfishes, shrimps, crabs) can live. A in caves of a stone rock can be placed, if it is large enough, both the bird's crates, and aquariums and trrrariums for reptiles and little mammals, and each of their inhabitants will be be possible to created correct illumination and microclimate.
